CASEY SPINDLER | NICHOLAS WEBBER
The New York roots rock duo NICKCASEY features drummer Dan Rieser and bassists Tony Scherr and the late, great Tim Luntzel.
Born and raised in Florida and California respectively, Mr. Spindler and Mr. Webber began their collaboration in Pittsburgh while attending the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, class of ‘04.
Projects include:
Allegheny Morning Sky (2006): a compilation of multitrack acoustic recordings digitally tracked at Nick’s apartment in Harlem.
Can’t Reason Through Love (2010): recorded by Grammy-winner Chris Shaw at Electric Lady Studios with Tim Lunztel on bass, Dan Rieser on drums, and featuring Jim Campilongo on guitar. CRTL was mastered by—the master—Greg Calbi.
“Boneshaker,” a short film (2016): a young actor’s anxiety is aggravated by a series of absurd encounters.
Life With Others, Parts I & II (2016): Luntzel, Rieser, and Shaw return for a two-day recording marathon at Excello Recording in Williamsburg. Thirty songs are tracked to 2” tape; twenty-four make the cut. Calbi returns to master.
Life In My Head (2024): recorded on an eight track to 1/2” tape at Tony Scherr’s home studio in Carroll Gardens with Rieser on drums, Scherr on bass, and featuring Jon Cowherd on organ; mixed by Bowie alum Mark Plati and mastered by Calbi.
